Robotics is becoming increasingly prevalent in our day to day lives, capable of completing tasks previously only humans could manage. Technocamps is holding a Welsh National Robotics Competition using LEGO Mindstorm or Spike, Arduino, or any other robotics hardware you may have available. The competition will enable pupils to develop their problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, as well as their knowledge of computer science in a fun and inventive way.
The challenge is to design and create a robot that is capable of a sporting feat. Think about how it could be designed to beat its competitors. Creativity is the key! Your team must come up with an original design for your robot, then develop and prototype it ready to present at the competition final.
The final will also incorporate a LIVE challenge – details will be announced at the event. This challenge will involve adapting your robot; for example, it may require needing to alter the speed it moves or adding features such as a method of lifting, moving or pushing an object. Each team will be given time during the day to plan and alter their robot ready to compete against the other competition entries.
Want to be a part of this event? Gather a team and express your interest by 4th June 2024. Suitable for school-age children.
