An introduction to Python programming

This four-hour workshop provides participants with an introduction to computational problem solving using the programming language Python. Participants will gain:
- An understanding of what computational thinking is.
- The ability to develop computational solutions to problems.
- An understanding of core programming concepts.
- Basic Python programming skills.
- The ability to automate repetitive tasks.
- Communicate effectively with visualisations.
- Career advancement with improved problem-solving skills.
No previous programming experience will be assumed.

Data analytics with Python
10am – 12noon on Friday 15 March

This four-hour workshop provides participants with an understanding of how to perform data analytics with Python through a variety of tools and libraries. Workshop explores how we can effectively use data to solve meaningful tasks in our work and day-to-day lives. By leveraging the use of data patterns, trends, and relationships, we can make more informed choices in many domains. Students will gain:
- The ability to identify tools and libraries for performing data analytics.
- An understanding of data manipulation in Python.
- Skills in performing basic data analyses on research data.
- Improved communication.
- Bridge the gap between tech and non-tech colleagues.
Participants will be expected to have a basic knowledge of Python, for example as provided by the four-hour Introduction to Python workshop.
