Technocamps is once again offering a fantastic, unique opportunity to teachers and support staff from both primary and secondary schools across Wales starting in Autumn 2022. We are offering this qualification absolutely FREE to teachers and schools.
This qualification provides teachers with a wealth of content and pedagogical knowledge to enable and enhance the delivery of the Digital Competence Framework, Computer Science National Curriculum and (for secondary school teachers) the new GCSE and A’ Level specifications in Computer Science. The course will be delivered in engaging and hands-on sessions by experienced Technocamps Delivery Officers with the course split over 18 full-day sessions throughout the school year.
The Certificate comprises of four units which cover a range of topics from programming to theory. The recommended guided learning hours for each unit is 30 hours. Assessment for each unit will require teachers to produce a detailed electronic scheme of work and learning resources to support the delivery of a series of four to six lessons for that unit which demonstrates the teacher’s understanding of how to deliver its content in an engaging way in the classroom. This will be the fifth year we have run this programme, with 68 teachers successfully completing the course with us.
All participants reported that it has had a significant impact on themselves, their schools and their pupils. Applications for 2022 are now open! If you would like to take part in the course, please complete the application form below and send it to info@technocamps.com.
