ITWales’ 22nd annual International Women’s Day event will be held on Tuesday 8th March 2022.
The annual ITWales International Women’s Day Celebration provides an insight into the diverse range of business and career opportunities for women in the 21st Century. It offers a platform for sharing experiences, knowledge, and best practice for women, particularly those working within science and technology.
The theme for this year’s event is For the Girls. The event will showcase the support available for young females hoping to work in the STEM sectors and the incredible work being done to encourage the next generation of scientists, focusing on our GiST (Girls into Science and Technology) programme. Speakers will demonstrate the work being done by businesses, charities and projects across the country to encourage girls to study and work in the STEM industries. We welcome all women and allies!
Speakers include Jeremy Miles MS, incoming Children’s Commissioner for Wales Rocio Cifuentes, Kev Johns MBE, The Intellectual Property Office, Bridgend College, Prince’s Trust, EESW and STEM Gogledd.
The prestigious event sees politicians, celebrities and international CEOs in attendance, and we in previous years, we have had the joy of welcoming former Welsh Government Education Minister Kirsty Williams, Chair of the Institute of Coding Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, Swansea University Vice Chancellor Paul Boyle and Welsh Government Minister for Finance and Local Government, Rebecca Evans MS.
