Last week was the end of our three week Summer School Programme with the students from Ysgol Bae Baglan who have participated in a 5-week IRONMAN Programme created by Yellowsands Foundation.
During their time with us, the Technocamps Delivery Officers taught the students STEM-based activities such as coding, maths, how to build spaghetti bridges, Scratch modelling, creating parachutes, building rockets along with many other things.
The students all completed the three-week course, gained new friends and graduated with advanced knowledge that may help them pass their GCSE exams successfully.
Here is what one of the students said:
“The Summer of 2019 couldn’t have gone any better. I am so grateful to have met such an incredible group of people. We’ve only known each other for three weeks but we unite and have become a family. I have pushed myself to the limit, achieved things I never thought I could do. I have answered questions and engaged with staff. We have made private jokes like Frank, triangles and spaghetto (one piece of spaghetti). The experience overall was flawless. We had an opportunity to create and explore new skills and develop old ones.”
