The 18th of June, 2018 marks the 90th anniversary of Amelia Earhart’s landing just off the coast of Pwll and arriving in Burry Port and girls from local Burry Port Primary schools enjoyed a fun-packed morning to celebrate the event. Invited by Lee Waters AM the local schoolgirls were introduced to many fun-filled science activities under the expert instruction of Mad Science and Technocamps.
They were shown the exciting science behind flight and forces as well as a hands-on approach with paper planes, hair-dryers and ping-pong balls!
At the Technocamps workshop, the girls were given the opportunity to develop and show off their excellent programming skills by creating fun Amelia Earhart themed games. We were blown away by how quickly they picked up the game, especially given the time restraints to fit all of the excitement into a single morning! An excellent morning!
