Mae Gŵyl Wyddoniaeth Abertawe yn wledd flynyddol i blant ac oedolion fel ei gilydd, a gynhelir ar ddechrau'r hanner tymor yng Nghymru, gan gynnig arddangosiadau ymarferol, arbrofion byw a gweithdai technolegol a ddiddanu ymwelwyr am y penwythnos cyfan.
Wedi'i threfnu gan Prifysgol Abertawe, Technocamps was once again privileged to have been asked to participate at this exceptional, family-focused event. It was an opportunity to showcase the work that we do with schools across Wales and to raise awareness of the fact that Computer Science is an exciting sector in which to work.
Parents in attendance applauded the work that we do and admitted that they had been ‘dragged’ to the Technocamps stand by excited children, many of whom had undertaken workshops in their schools. One parent, in particular, recognized the impact that the project has had on his 10-year-old daughter:
"You came into her school a few weeks ago and she hasn’t stopped talking about robots since. She’s even asked for her own Sphero ei hun ar gyfer y Nadolig er mwyn iddi allu ei raglennu i wneud rhai pethau cŵl iawn.”
This year’s activities were particularly stimulating exciting with visitors working on code-breaking and cryptography tasks. The team taught our amazing Sphero robots to swim and showed how clever our Lego Mindstorms EV3s pan fyddant yn cael eu gosod i mewn i ddrysfa. Gwnaeth ein Tîm Cyflanwi a Llysgenhadon Technocamps waith rhagorol gan ddiddanu a dysgu cannoedd o ymwelwyr trwy gydol y penwythnos.
Yn ogystal â chael stondin yn y digwyddiad, roeddem yn gallu cynnig ein gweithdai Heliwr Pili Pala llawn i'r cyhoedd am y tro cyntaf. Mae'r gweithdai hyn wedi cael eu cynnal mewn ysgolion ledled y wlad ers dechrau'r tymor ysgol, mewn cydweithrediad â Theatre n’a NOg, in schools across the country since the start of the school term. Technocamps has worked with the theatre company to develop classroom resources using inspiration from their fantastic play about scientist Alfred Russel Wallace (also known as the Welsh Darwin) who came up with his own theories about evolution.
Mae'r gweithdai yn cymryd y thema 'Heliwr Pili Pala' ac yn ei symud i faes Cyfrifiadureg, gan addysgu egwyddorion Dysgu Peirianyddol a Deallusrwydd Artiffisial. Ffordd arloesol a chreadigol o gyfuno pynciau celfyddydol a gwyddoniaeth yn ystafell ddosbarth yr ysgol gynradd.
Hoffem ddiolch i'r Brifysgol am ein gwahodd i gymryd rhan ... fe welwn ni chi yr un amser, yn yr un lle, y flwyddyn nesaf!
